General Description: Under direction of the Prevention Program Director responsible for coordinating all data collection and dissemination projects under the PRC Grant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that grant activities are carried out as stated in the approved grant application.
  • Maintain accurate support documentation for grant reporting.
  • Assure timely and accurate submission of all grant reports.
  • Travel in and out of service area (which may require out of town/state overnight or more stays) and work a flexible schedule as required for fulfilling grant and or training requirements.
  • Maintain; clean driving record, criminal record, unrestricted driver’s license, auto insurance at all times. Immediately reports to supervisor in writing any deviations from the above.
  • Develop local data collection methods, such as interviews and focus groups, to collect local community and county data for the development of the Regional Needs Assessment (RNA).
  • Collaborate with the regional Community Coalition Partnerships (CCPs) to obtain data.
  • Facilitate existing data collection strategies (the Texas School Survey, etc.).
  • Analyze data, create written and oral reports, and databases concerning behavioral health data.
  • Work with the HHSC Statewide Prevention Evaluator(s) to establish and report on data strategies.
  • Provide local technical assistance and consultation to providers, community groups, and other stakeholders related to behavioral health data collection activities.
  • Determine local community, county, and regional behavioral health trends.
  • Conduct CSAP prevention strategies, including information dissemination, community-based process, and environmental and social policy
  • Prepare and submit all required PRC reports and plans for review and approval by the Program Director
  • Develop in conjunction with the quality team a means of assessing the quality of the work completed in area of responsibility, implement and monitor and report to quality team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • The Regional PRC Data Coordinator shall have, at a minimum, a degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences or related field or 3 or more years of experience in social science research or program evaluation.
  • Experience and/or coursework in statistics, research methods, and program evaluation.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop written or oral reports to provide feedback, monitoring, and recommendations for improving local community, county, and regional data collection strategies and activities.
  • Ability to analyze data using statistical software.
  • Ability to develop reports to provide evaluation of local community, county, and regional data collection strategies and activities.
  • Knowledge and skill in coordinating/collaborating with staff, volunteers, and other community programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
  • Highly ethical and demonstrates a professional demeanor.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse prevention domains
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize.
  • Working knowledge of community resources and contacts.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Highly productive.
