Full job description

About Us:
At Weight In Gold Wellness, we believe in treating obesity as a complex, chronic disease—not as a personal failure. Our mission is to provide compassionate, stigma-free care that supports patients on their weight health journey. We focus on personalized, evidence-based treatments, including nutritional counseling, behavioral therapy, and obesity medications.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Registered Dietitian to join our team. The ideal candidate will embrace our patient-centered approach, providing a safe, non-judgmental environment where patients feel empowered to take control of their health. This role includes nutritional counseling, education on obesity as a disease, and collaboration with healthcare providers on medication management. In addition, the dietitian will contribute to community outreach and social media, helping raise awareness and educate the public on obesity and nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized, evidence-based nutrition care plans tailored to patients’ individual needs.
  • View obesity through a scientific and compassionate lens, treating it as a chronic disease.
  • Create a welcoming, stigma-free environment that meets patients where they are on their journey.
  • Collaborate with the care team to support patients in conjunction with obesity medications and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on the role of nutrition in managing obesity, metabolic health, and overall wellness.
  • Educate patients on their nutrition related diseases including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, liver conditions, poly cystic ovarian syndrome, GERD, etc.
  • Provide education and support to fellow healthcare providers on nutrition and its role in obesity treatment.
  • Develop and contribute content for Weight In Gold Wellness’ social media channels, focusing on obesity education and nutrition.
  • Participate in community outreach and educational events to raise awareness and provide guidance on nutrition and obesity care.
  • Assist with virtual or in-person consultations, helping patients adjust to lifestyle changes during challenging times (e.g., holiday seasons, cold weather).

Requirements:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential and state licensure (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Strong understanding of obesity as a chronic disease and the role of diet in managing it.
  • Experience working in a non-judgmental, supportive environment with patients of all backgrounds.
  • Willingness to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including prescribing obesity medications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and education.
  • Ability to create engaging content for social media and conduct educational outreach in the community.
  • Must complete an obesity medicine and weight management certification for dietitians within one year of employment.
