The Research and Insights (R&I) team at CREtech is a growing team of “data ninjas” who leverage their expertise in real estate, research, and tech to discover emerging trends in global real estate tech (proptech) ecosystem.

The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys working with and researching startups, venture capitalists, and real estate professionals. This position will leverage your data and business intelligence capabilities to help us accelerate our impact on the industry. We are seeking candidates that are self-starters who can work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.

The ideal person will be comfortable in:

  • The process of individual contribution (i.e. digging into the data for value extraction)
  • Working with senior business representatives
  • Successfully manage Research & Insights projects

Key Responsibilities:

In the big picture, R&I team members focus on:

  • Understanding the business needs related to data and technology
  • Work on the identification and extraction of data from multiple data sources
  • Organize the efficient collection, connection and storage of relevant data
  • Use data technology to extract and deliver/present business value to CREtech globally via reports, analytics and visualizations.

Here are some of the more detailed position responsibilities:

  • Consult with the various CREtech business lines to assess existing business processes and the real estate tech (proptech) landscape.
  • Identify business value-add opportunities with multi-functional colleagues and contributes to / leads the design & development of solutions to optimize R&I.
  • Generate R&I content in the form of content, visualizations, and reports on behalf of clients, media requests, and within CREtech internal functions e.g. Marketing, Growth, Finance, etc.
  • Independently develop, execute and monitor data and business intelligence processes to support ad hoc data and information delivery for assigned projects.
  • Develop proficiency in multiple research management disciplines and tools to develop robust and scalable R&I solutions.
  • Identify and acquire new data and information sources and perform research discovery to understand values and relationships.
  • Develop documentation and communication materials to ensure accurate usage and interpretation of data across business lines and internal groups.
  • Relationship management between R&I team and clients.
  • Develop and assist in the delivery of Deep Dives and Research Findings via in person presentations or via phone.
  • Analyze research to craft strategies for CREtech clients, leveraging proprietary research tools and databases.
  • Develop and deliver materials for ad hoc client requests and inquiries.
  • Identify digital best practices to grow our case study library.
  • Provide day-to-day account management services for assigned clients alongside Chief Growth Officer and Head of Business Intelligence.
  • Independently manage sections of projects.
  • Work with Research team on refining methodology based on client feedback.
  • Manage member tracking and administration (e.g. input data to Salesforce, respond to client emails, scheduling, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Passionate about real estate tech and supporting others.
  • Minimum 2+ years of work experience in the fields of real estate, business intelligence, and/or research.
  • 2-5 years of experience in client-facing consulting, research, or services role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Statistics, Marketing or a quantitative discipline in science, business, or social science.
  • Experience and understanding of real estate, technology, and research.
  • Exposure to and/or knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Excellent technical, analytical and organizational skills. Project management skills desired.
  • Understanding of trends and best practices in technology research and consulting.
  • Understanding/familiarity with large multi-brand organizations across one or more verticals.
  • Strong analytical skills (proficient in Excel) and an ability to distill data to actionable insights in a coherent narrative.
  • Excellent presentation, writing, and communication skills (including PowerPoint) with attention to detail.
  • Highly disciplined with a self-starter mentality; experience in start-ups and small organizations a plus.
  • Ability to execute plans effectively and show tangible results.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and self-disciplined individual capable of planning and executing multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a diverse working environment and with people management skills within such an environment
  • Prepared to take on increasing responsibility and leadership for Research & Insights projects.
