The Research Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the successful execution and advancement of our research initiatives. This individual is responsible for performing a variety of research, administrative, and communication tasks to ensure the ethical conduct of research and the achievement of the overall aims of Georgia CORE and the Georgia NCORP. With a focus on Cancer Care Delivery Research, Lead Clinical Research Associate responsibilities, and Education Training, the coordinator will be essential in managing and facilitating various aspects of the Georgia NCORP Program. Key responsibilities include collaborating with Georgia NCORP affiliate sites and program teams, overseeing study operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting educational initiatives within the research program. Reports to the Director of Research Strategy and Operations. The position offers a hybrid work model with onsite and remote.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cancer Care Delivery Research (50%):

Cancer Care Delivery Research (CCDR) is a Georgia NCORP program priority and is essential for understanding and optimizing cancer care delivery to patients. By dedicating 50% of the Research Program Coordinator's time to CCDR, we aim to:

  • Identify gaps and opportunities for expanding the cancer care delivery trial portfolio within our affiliate sites.
  • Support sites with clinical trial feasibility, implementation, and training staff.
  • Provide CCDR Clinical Trial Report to affiliate sites on a bi-monthly basis including key inclusion and exclusion criteria and other pertinent information.

2. Lead Clinical Research Associate with Monitoring (30%):

As a Lead Clinical Research Associate (CRA), the coordinator will oversee and ensure the quality and compliance of clinical research activities. This includes:

  • Serves as Lead Research Associate for the GA NCORP network, managing and conducting clinical trial monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to protocols, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Provides protocol and administrative support to research network members.
  • Maintains and assists Georgia NCORP network members with NCI rosters and access to electronic data capture systems.
  • Assists program with Research Base and Protocol audit scheduling, logistics, communication, and development of corrective and preventive action plans if applicable.
  • Generates monthly Georgia NCORP network reports for all research bases and newly opened clinical trials.
  • Lead Program Teams: Disparities and Treatment
  • Leads quarterly Georgia NCORP Research Managers Meetings

3. Education Training (20%):

Education and training are fundamental for building a skilled and knowledgeable workforce capable of conducting high-quality research. The Research Program Coordinator will:

  • Co-develop and deliver educational program and training sessions tailored to the needs of research staff, investigators, and collaborators.
  • Guide research methodologies, regulatory compliance, and best practices in clinical research.
  • Provide orientation to research network investigators and research staff as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5 years of related experience.
  • Clinical research experience in the oncology field preferred.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to plan and organize the workflow in a busy office/unit environment and be self-directed and work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of research methodologies, data management, and quality assurance.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and ethical standards in research. Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding research integrity.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with a diverse group of stakeholders, including researchers, clinical and community partners, and patients.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and management software.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Be a Certified Clinical Research Professional or plan to receive certification within specified timeframe
  • 10% Regional Travel Required
