Mary's Path changes lives "Two at a Time."
Pregnant and parenting teenage moms in the foster care system are placed with us.
These teen moms who have been abused/neglected/trafficked for sex find a safe place to heal from their trauma, get back on the path to finish high school, and learn to be loving parents. We aim to break the cycle of poverty and abuse and show these teen moms they can lives of dignity, hope, and self-sufficiency.

JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Director of Residential Services is to supervise and administrate the residential milieu component of the Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). This role maintains responsibility for all aspects of STRTP licensing compliance, including health and safety regulations, monitoring maintenance needs of the facility and equipment assigned to the facility, and ensuring that all paperwork and records regarding personnel or on-site record keeping meet licensing requirements. The position supports the direct care staff under the direction of the STRTP Head of Service and in collaboration with the organizational leadership team.
Qualifications
- Due to the nature of this position’s duties, only women may hold the position
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in relevant field
- At least three years of employment as a social worker, direct care staff or similar role in an agency serving youth or in a group residential program for youth;
- Current California Department of Social Services (CDSS) STRTP administrator certification preferred, ability to be certified by the as an STRTP Administrator and to maintain such certification in good standing at all times required
- Knowledge of Community Care Licensing (CCL) STRTP regulations
- Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role over social work, child care, and/or support staff providing direct services to youth in an agency or in a community care facility with a licensed capacity of seven or more.
- Fingerprint clearances
- Own vehicle, valid California Driver’s License and insurance

Responsibilities
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, evaluation, supervision, training and development of residential milieu staff in collaboration with Residential Manager.
- Interface with youth, families, direct care staff, and community partners regarding program activities, policies, procedures, and grievances. Inform Head of Service of any personnel problems and assist in finding solutions.
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures that align with state regulations and ensure safe and effective care.
- In collaboration with the Head of service, develop program goals, monitoring completion of these goals while ensuring trauma informed care and a therapeutic milieu that supports the emotional and psychological well-being of the youth.
- Coordinate referral and intake process for youth to be placed in the STRTP program
- Provide information about the program and screen youth to ensure treatment will best meet their needs.
- Manage intake/discharge procedures for all youth entering or leaving residential program.
- Coordinate directly with program staff to ensure a smooth transition for each youth.
- Provide information to Finance and Quality Assurance to facilitate accurate placement billing .
- Coordinate referral, intake and discharge processes for youth placed in the STRTP; including screening, intake, transition coordination, and completion and review of all required intake documentation in coordination with milieu staff and Residential Manager, Finance and Quality Assurance.
- Communicate with residential and mental health teams regarding client care, interventions for the milieu and other client related issues, in collaboration with other program leaders.
- Engage in monitoring in collaboration with Quality Assurance staff to ensure residential program compliance and act as lead in CCL reviews, audits and other relevant program reviews. .
- Ensure appropriate and timely completion of Incident Reports by residential staff and ensure timely submission to CCL.
- Prepare and Distribute daily, weekly, and monthly information/reports to various partner agencies (e.g. state and county child welfare, probation, and behavioral health departments) as required by regulatory agencies and contract compliance requirements in a professional and accurate manner, as needed.
- Attend meetings with county and state departments to support STRTP regulatory compliance.
- Manage residential program financial items, including but not limited to gift cards, clothing allowances petty cash, and weekend funds to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Attend regular training and supervision, to evaluate procedures and ensure a well-informed, educated process.
- Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of Service or organizational leadership.
