Northern Toyotalift is Vermont’s largest and most successful industrial forklift dealer and we are currently looking for a new addition to our team. With 10 technicians servicing our customers across VT and upstate NY our shop is busy year-round with little to no down time. While equipment repair experience is a plus it is not a requirement, we have a number of techs that have come from other fields and transitioned into equipment techs very successfully so if you’re looking for a change, we have an opportunity for you to join our fast growing company.

Summary:

Field Technicians are responsible for receiving service calls, from the dealership, to be handled at various customer locations.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Communication with Dispatch/Service Manager or other dealership contacts for off-site repairs or services at customer locations
  • Communication with customers in regards to services or repairs needed
  • Trouble shoot and repair equipment at customers location
  • Identify larger jobs and communicate them with the customer and dealership staff (parts and service)
  • Responsible for time management. Must be self-motivated and organized
  • Keeping records of work in progress
  • Manage Van Stock
  • Order necessary parts for van stock and customer related work
  • Keep a clean and safe work environment at customer locations, and work van, as well as at the dealership

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Automotive Trade Program
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of Automotive Tools and Instruments
  • Complete understanding of Internal Combustion Engine functions and Operation
  • Hydraulic systems knowledge
  • Must Supply own personal tools – Some Specialized Tools will be supplied
  • Preform Repairs with accuracy and competence
  • Ability to communicate with dealership staff and customers
  • Clean Driving Record
