Position Summary

This position is responsible ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment following company policies/procedures as well state and federal requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Order cleaning and safety supplies and ensure there is the right amount of the stock at all the times.
  • Create, update and delivers safety training and ensure an organized record keeping of all safety training.
  • Regularly audit the production floor, warehouse and office area for safety compliance.
  • Keep updated the Emergency Safety plan and Evacuation maps.
  • Keep track of safety incidents/accidents, define action plans and create safety alerts/trainings.
  • Ensure that all Safety records are properly filled and stored, which includes Safety audits, Fire extinguishers checklists, 1st Aid cabinets checklists, Safety Data Sheet records, AED checklist, Eyewash station checklist, etc.
  • Reinforces safety policies and procedures through regular contact with employees.
  • Follow up periodically with injured employee(s) on their status, request medical notes and work on a plan to return to work with the support of the department head and workers compensation.
  • Maintain all required safety postings and reports including OSHA log.
  • Organize and document fire drills.
  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is properly assigned based on the nature of the positions and training records are kept.
  • Lead Safety Committees on a periodic basis and ensure the implementation of action plans in a timely manner.
  • Answer income calls and receive visitors as needed.
  • Works closely to support other HR functions as required.
  • And any other related task that the supervisor deems to be necessary.

Work environment

The working conditions for this role are consistent with those in a typical office environment that supports a manufacturing operation. This role will require frequent visits to the manufacturing floor.

Physical Demands

This role requires periods of sitting, working with a computer and other office equipment as well as sustained periods of time on the manufacturing floor. Frequent face-to-face interpersonal interactions are required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time role.

Travel

This position requires little to no travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 plus years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees using superior interpersonal skills.
  • Must be bi-lingual Spanish and English.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office with an emphasis on Word and Excel. Can create formulas, format, and filter with ease.

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

  • CPR and First aid certified
  • Experience in Safety or Human Resources
  • General familiarity with safety procedures in a manufacturing setting
  • Thrives in fast-paced growth environment. Ability to wear multiple hats and multi-task.
  • Comfortable navigating and using cloud based systems including Google Calendar, Email, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
