Position Purpose

This position is responsible for developing, improving, and managing McElroy’s Inc and McElroy Electric safety programs. This includes policies, procedures, and training for job sites, repairs/service, warehouse, pre-fabrication, office, and vehicles.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties

1. Stay current with all relevant safety regulations, standards, and codes.

2. Ensure ongoing compliance with all government, customer, and internal safety regulations.

3. Oversee documentation of Safety policies and procedures.

4. Conduct, track, and document safety training.

5. Oversee job site audits.

6. Perform safety event investigations including close calls.

7. Oversee workers compensation claims with beginning-to-end responsibility, including return to work situations.

8. Prepare and submit government and customer safety forms and reports.

9. Be the safety subject matter expert with clients, regulators, and employees.

10. Develop and analyze reports to identify trends and indicators to help prevent future safety incidents.

11. Assist with strategy and decision making to lower safety costs by teaming with internal staff and our business partners.

1. Reduce total work compensation cost including premiums and claims.

2. Interpret and understand all safety regulations, standards and codes.

3. Complete and file all government and customer forms and reports by their deadlines.

4. Accurate and timely tracking of safety training for all types of work and all employees.

5. Accurate and timely documentation of safety events.

6. Lead and manage culture change.

7. Develop a good working relationship with all employees.

8. Self-organization and management.

9. Keep sensitive information confidential.

Qualifications

1. Four-year undergraduate degree or timely progress to completion.

2. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel applications

3. 1 year or more safety experience with construction background heavily preferred

4. Excellent interpersonal skills

5. OSHA30 certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Office setting, with travel to job sites as needed. Job sites can be both inside and outside, in all types of weather conditions.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
