Happenings Media is a growing network of digital, hyperlocal, lifestyle magazine in 20+ markets nationally.

Happenings Media is seeking a sales manager who is hungry to help lead this growing company to the next level. A minimum of 3-5 years of advertising sales experience as well as knowledge of the digital advertising landscape is required. Results oriented, driven, with a clear focus on closing profitable business with minimal micromanagement. A passion to succeed and the ability to quickly adapt to change are essential. Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospects
  • Ability to adapt, create and customize sales materials and presentations for clients
  • Rigorous focus on moving clients through the pipeline
  • Maintain continuous productive communication with prospects and clients
  • Consistently close sales with SMBs in Happenings Media’s 23 markets
  • Cultivate & close sales with regional and national advertisers (directly and via agencies)
  • Troubleshoot and help to develop a repeatable sales process
  • Lay the foundation to manage a team of sales professionals within 12 months

Essential skills, qualifications & capabilities:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of sales experience
  • Proven ability to sell integrated packages to clients
  • Understanding of digital ad sales
  • Track record of revenue growth
  • Must be well organized, detail oriented, results driven
  • Ability to work in a fast paced sales environment
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated strategic, consultative and analytical sales approach with focus on building partnerships with clients
  • Customer-focused leadership with excellent communication, networking and negotiation skills
  • Exceptional Closing Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and/or Mac (Keynote, Numbers, Pages) and CRM tools. A working knowledge of web a plus.
