About Us: The Student Conservation Association (SCA) is the largest provider of hands-on environmental conservation programs for youth and adults. Program participants protect and restore national parks, marine sanctuaries, cultural landmarks, and community green spaces across the country.

Position Overview:

The SCA Fellow Intern will play a vital role in Human Resources by contributing to our HRIS document compliance initiatives. As an SCA Fellow, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in functionality analysis and setup of a newly integrated Human Resource Information System (HRIS). This opportunity provides an excellent opportunity to develop skills, network, and make a positive impact on company employees and therefore the environment. All SCA Fellow Interns will operate as a cohort, participating in orientation, training, and ongoing check-ins together over the twelve weeks.

Location: Remote

Duration: January 8, 2024 – March 29, 2024 (12 Weeks, 25 hours per week)


  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing the ADP document library for employees and participants.
  • Participate in analysis related to HR compliance and record retention.
  • Collaborate with the Benefits, Recruitment, Onboarding and Payroll teams on the HRIS document compliance project including creating an inventory, collecting function specific requirements and completing a comparison of existing documents to requirements.
  • Contribute to department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Attend and actively participate in needed orientation, meetings, training sessions, and check-ins.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of inventories, requirements, and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines while working.
  • Perform any other duties as required by HR Management.


  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a college or university program in Human Resources, Information Technology or General Business.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote), Webex, Zoom
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and tackle new challenges with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the Fellow internship and attend necessary orientation, trainings, check-ins, and meetings.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety procedures and environmental ethics.
  • Access to a computer, reliable internet connectivity and ability to work remotely.


  • Compensation: $18/hour
