Join Our Team at Lake Michigan Academy!

Are you passionate about inspiring young minds and making a real difference in the lives of students with unique learning needs? At Lake Michigan Academy, we pride ourselves on being a one-of-a-kind school dedicated to serving scholars with learning differences. With a strong emphasis on differential learning and a nurturing environment, we’re searching for a dynamic Middle School Teacher to join our vibrant community.

**Why You’ll Love Working Here: At Lake Michigan Academy, you won’t just be a teacher—you’ll be a guiding star for our students. With small class sizes averaging just 8 students per teacher, you’ll have the opportunity to foster genuine connections and tailor your teaching to meet the diverse needs of each scholar. We serve students from elementary through high school, creating a continuum of support and growth. Our school follows a traditional calendar, giving you well-deserved holidays and summers off to recharge and enjoy time with family and friends. We believe in a healthy work-life balance, ensuring that our educators feel valued and supported.

**Your Role: As a Middle School Teacher, you will:

Inspire learning and growth through engaging classroom instruction aligned with lesson plans.

Create a welcoming and dynamic classroom environment that resonates with the interests and maturity of our students.

Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive space where self-discipline and responsibility thrive.

Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates and insights into student progress.

Supervise and mentor students with a caring and attentive approach.

**What We’re Looking For: To thrive in this position, a Bachelor’s degree and a valid teaching certificate are required. A knack for building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively. Basic mathematical skills and a creative approach to problem-solving. A passion for implementing lessons that meet the diverse needs of student learners.

**Physical Requirements: You should be prepared to engage with students actively, which means speaking, walking, and sometimes climbing, kneeling, or crouching. You may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and conduct activities both indoors and outdoors in a variety of settings.

**Your Work Environment: Expect a lively atmosphere! Our classrooms can be tranquil, but like any school, they can become energetic during lunch or assemblies. You’ll enjoy the changing scenery of our indoor and outdoor spaces, all while being part of a fulfilling educational journey.

At Lake Michigan Academy, you’re not just filling a position; you're joining a community committed to embracing each scholar's uniqueness and potential. Ready to make an impact? We’d love to hear from you!
