Seasonal Tax Appointment Scheduler – (Remote)

The 2024 Tax Season is January 8th – April 18th, 2024

- Candidate must have their own computer (all work-related platforms are either browser or cloud-based. However, Chromebooks do not have the RAM capacity needed to support the platforms used)

- Candidate must have their own internet (monthly internet stipend available)

- Candidates must have prior talk/type experience

Seasonal Tax Scheduler Job Summary:

Job Overview:

As part of our 2-1-1 contact center, you will help Vermont residents by scheduling appointments for eligible clients to have their taxes files by a VITA tax specialist. You will follow-up using phone, email and text messaging. Attention to detail is very important. There is no cold calling in this position.

Reports to: Vermont 2-1-1 Contact Center Program Manager and Shift Supervisor

Job Type: Full-time Seasonal

Pay: $16.00+ per hour


- Respond to all client inquiries in a timely and professional manner via phone, email, or text platforms.

- Efficiently schedule tax appointments for eligible clients via Google Calendars.

- Send follow up texts via our texting platform, confirming scheduled appointments and required documents to bring to your appointment.

- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering exceptional customer service through attentive listening and courteously providing accurate information.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client information in the database.

- Ability to sit for long periods of time

- Ability to handle a high call volume in a fast-paced contact center environment

- Ability to simultaneously listen to callers, and accurately enter call data via keyboarding.

- Ability to meet key performance metrics

- Understands eligibility guidelines as set forth by VITA.

- Informs clients of eligibility determinations.

- Document contacts per agency protocol

- Offer support to clients who may experience barriers in accessing referred services, per agency protocol

Job Qualifications:

- Call center/customer service experience is a plus

- Capacity to adhere to your assigned shift.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

- Proficient with computers and Microsoft software applications.

- A good work ethic and professional appearance

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Ability to talk and type simultaneously

- Must have a reliable computer with a minimum of 16GB of RAM

- Must have reliable personal Internet (no, phone data will not be sufficient). Monthly internet stipend available.

- Strong service and problem-solving focus and ability to diffuse difficult callers, even while under pressure

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
