Security Low Voltage Technician

Shift: Days, Standard Business Hours, Occasionally After Business Hours

Location: Work will be based in Lincoln, Nebraska and surrounding areas. Reports to the Lincoln office.

Possible occasional travel to customer sites within a 3 hour radius of the office. Some overnight stays may be required based on job location. Vehicle and tools provided by Inteconnex.

Security Technician Job Duties:

• Installation and service of surveillance and card access equipment.
• All wiring, including long run cables and breakout to field components.
• Composite card access cable.
• Copper network cable.
• Pre-terminated fiber optic cables.
• Installation of security head end components. Security cabinets, power supplies.
• Installation of cable support devices.
• Installation of short conduit runs to reach non-standard installation locations, roof tops, corners of buildings.
• Installation of field devices. Cameras, card readers, REXs, door contacts, electronic Locking hardware.
• Mounting and weather proofing camera installation.
• Mounting and weather proofing other aux devices.
• Interfacing aux equipment to card access or camera systems. ADA operators, dry contact alarm systems, push to exit buttons, fire alarm interfacing.
• Testing and commissioning of field devices, including function tests, and aim/focus of cameras, cable or network bandwidth testing.
• Ability to operate all tools required for installation tasks including power tools, man lifts, climbing ladders, working on roof tops.

Education and Experience:

• Education: High school education or equivalent required. Special training or schooling in CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems preferred but not required.
• Experience: Minimum two years experience required in the security and surveillance installation field.

(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities) Must be able to understand and comply with all company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials and information. Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Must have a valid government issued ID and pass a background check.

Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments, which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, dark, dimly lit or brightly illuminated. Work may be performed in small areas, such as crawl spaces, attics and high areas such as catwalks, working at a level of 4 feet or more above floor level. Frequent contact with customers and other contractors.
