Full job description
Position Overview:
We’re seeking a awesome Senior Accountant with a strong background in small business accounting. The ideal candidate has seen it all - spanning payroll, tax compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, and more. They are detail oriented and want to build systems that run themselves - minimizing hands-on data entry. This role will serve a critical team member ensuring our financial practices are solid and scalable as we grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions, including payroll, taxes, accounts payable/receivable, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Manage tax compliance for federal, state, and local taxes, and communicate with taxing authorities as needed.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including benefits administration.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in creating and managing budgets, providing insights and forecasts for business decisions.
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes.
- Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a small CPA firm or similar environment working with small businesses.
- Strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Ability to manage a variety of accounting tasks and shift priorities as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly.
- High level of integrity and ethics in all financial practices.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required; familiarity with other basic accounting tools is a plus.
