Full job description
Vector Airport Systems, headquartered in Herndon, VA, is the industry leader in revenue-generating aviation technology solutions. Vector is growing rapidly and is sweeping the US airport market with our PLANEPASS service, which delivers hundreds of millions in revenue to our airport clients, providing them with the revenue to pursue their core missions. In our pursuit of continuous improvement and technological advancement, we are looking for a skilled, fully remote Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our team.
About the Position
As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you'll be a valuable member on vector's technical team that collaborates with product owners, peer engineers, architects, and scrum masters to manage, design, configure, deploy, and support IaaS and PaaS Azure Cloud Infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be production support, which will include some off-hour critical and/or emergency support, as required to support business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, design, configure, deploy, and support a security-first HA/DR enterprise-level IaaS infrastructure on Azure
- Perform Active Directory, Windows Server 2022, SQL Server and IIS system administration
- Troubleshoot infrastructure to identify, diagnose, and perform solution resolution
- Configure, manage, and monitoring alert notifications and performance dashboards
- Develop and support IaC using Azure CLI PowerShell, ARM Templates, and Bicep
- Perform Azure DevOps and Microsoft365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) administration
- Create and update infrastructure documentation to meet legal and regulatory compliance and audit requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related field
- 8+ years of hands-on experience working with Azure IaaS (VMs running AD, IIS, SQL Server, MQ), Entra, Availability Sets, Azure Site Recovery, Azure Load Balancer, Azure Traffic Manager, Azure Front Door, Azure DNS, Azure vNet, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Key Vault, Storage, Log Analytics, and Azure Management Groups and Subscriptions
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proactive problem-solving mindset, with a demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and address them before they escalate
- Highly conscientious approach to tasks, ensuring high-quality outcomes and attention to detail
- Adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment, particularly when managing and supporting critical infrastructure
- Azure Certifications are highly desirable
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
- Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
- Able to be available and work during core hours 11 AM EST – 4:30 PM EST
- Authorized to work in US

Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
