This is design. This is book publishing. This is creating and recreating covers and typesetting interiors and designing merchandise and more. But it’s designing for a small, unique independent publishing company built by an entrepreneurial thought leader and New York Times bestselling author, Matthew Kelly. (www.matthewkelly.com).

We’ll spell it out clearly:

• You’ll support the Senior Designer in all phases of ideation, creation, typesetting, and perfecting our upcoming books and other products for Viident.
• You’ll collaborate with Matthew Kelly and the editorial team to ensure our world-class titles are beautiful, polished, and on-brand for the Viident mission.
• You’ll create mood boards and pitch inspiration proposals to Matthew Kelly directly.
• You’ll work in other realms of design, such as merchandise, advertisement content, YouTube thumbnails, logos, and more.

Graphic Design isn’t easy. Designing for a book publishing company isn’t easy either, but it’s so worth it. We hit hard deadlines and pivot onto new projects in the blink of an eye. You’ll have to be efficient and creative while under high stress. You’ll have to be prepared to pivot priorities on a dime and still be able to get the job done.

Location: Erlanger, KY. We work in the office, five days a week. This is not a remote opportunity. Be prepared to have pizza parties.

Necessary Skills & Qualifications

• You’re coachable and committed to best practices, taking direction and open to continuous learning
• You’re tech savvy: It’s essential you have InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator experience and knowledge of the print production process
• You can interpret and adhere to the CEO’s creative long-term vision, re-directing the creative process where necessary
• You have a passion for artistic storytelling
• You have a focused sense of creative aesthetic taste and exceptional use of typography and color theory (demonstrated in portfolio)
• You’re adaptable, self-motivated, and diligent in your attention to detail

Salary & Benefits

Competitive Earnings: You’ll earn between $50,000 to $70,000 with Full Health Care Benefits and a 3% match on SIMPLE IRA.
