Director of Business Development (B2B and B2G Focus)

We are looking for an experienced, results-driven Director of Business Development to lead our B2B and B2G growth strategy, cultivate strategic partnerships, and drive revenue through targeted market engagement. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in managing complex sales funnels, building long-term relationships, and executing customer-centric strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of government contracting, customer lifecycle management, and an ability to translate market insights into actionable business plans.

Key Responsibilities

B2B/B2G Sales Leadership

  • Develop and execute targeted strategies to expand B2B and B2G markets, including federal and state programs, contracts, and funding opportunities.
  • Oversee the B2B sales funnel from lead generation through closure, leveraging CRM tools to manage accounts, track interactions, and sustain engagement.
  • Lead negotiation of key agreements such as Letters of Intent, Memorandums of Understanding, and commercial contracts.
  • Cultivate and manage long-term, trust-based relationships with key B2B and B2G clients, acting as the primary contact and proactively identifying growth opportunities.

Sales Pipeline & Performance Management

  • Build and sustain a data-driven sales pipeline, enhancing lead generation, conversion rates, and overall business development performance.
  • Report on sales performance, forecasting, and pipeline health to inform executive leadership and drive strategic adjustments.

Industry Engagement & Strategic Partnerships

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess trends, identify growth areas, and refine the company’s positioning.
  • Represent the company at industry events to expand professional networks, secure leads, and elevate brand presence.
  • Identify and nurture partnerships to broaden market reach, diversify offerings, and enhance competitive positioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or technical field(e.g., engineering, science); MBA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development with a focus on B2B and B2G sales, pipeline management, and relationship-building.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to optimizing pipeline and managing customer relationships.
  • Preference for experience with the federal government, medical, and energy sectors.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
