Job Title: SeniorDirector of Development
Reports To: President
FLSA Status: Exempt-Full Time

Summary:
The Senior Director of Development is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of all fundraising, capital campaign, and donor engagement initiatives in support of Bishop Kearney High School’s mission and long-term priorities. Reporting to the President, this position plays a critical role in advancing philanthropic support through annual giving, capital campaigns, major gifts, and comprehensive donor stewardship. The Senior Director of Development supervises the Director of Donor and Alumni Relations and ensures alignment across fundraising, alumni engagement, and stewardship efforts. This role partners closely with the President and Board of Trustees to drive a culture of philanthropy and achieve ambitious fundraising goals.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Strategic Fundraising Leadership and Capital Campaigns
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year development strategy aligned with institutional priorities.
- Provide leadership for all fundraising initiatives, including annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, corporate sponsorships, grants, and capital campaigns.
- Lead and oversee capital campaigns, including planning, feasibility studies, campaign structure, volunteer leadership, and principal gift strategy.
- Establish campaign and annual fundraising goals; monitor progress and adjust strategies to ensure success.
- Partner with the President and Board of Trustees to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward high-level and principal gift donors.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of major and planned gift prospects.
- Oversee the development of proposals, gift agreements, and donor impact reporting.
Donor and Alumni Relations Leadership
- Directly supervise and provide strategic guidance to the Director of Donor and Alumni Relations.
- Ensure a coordinated and effective approach to donor engagement, alumni relations, and stewardship.
- Oversee strategies for donor cultivation, recognition, and long-term engagement, including campaign-specific initiatives.
- Support high-level donor relationships and participate in key solicitations and stewardship activities.
- Ensure alignment between fundraising priorities and alumni engagement efforts.
Program Collaboration and Institutional Support
- Collaborate with the Bishop Kearney Selects programs to develop and execute fundraising initiatives that align with institutional priorities and athletic program needs.
- Partner with athletics and other programs to ensure fundraising efforts are coordinated, strategic, and mission-aligned.
- Engage program leadership in donor cultivation and stewardship efforts where appropriate.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives related to institutional growth and capital improvements.
Data Management and Reporting
- Oversee donor database management, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
- Establish and track key performance indicators for fundraising and campaign success.
- Prepare and present regular reports on development performance to the President and Board of Trustees.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, development, or nonprofit advancement.
- Demonstrated success leading capital campaigns and securing major and principal gifts required.
- Proven experience managing and mentoring staff.
- Experience working with boards, campaign committees, and high-net-worth donors preferred.
- Familiarity with 501(c)(3) regulations is a plus.
Language Ability:
Comfortable and capable of representing the institution in multiple contexts, both orally and in writing.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Excel. Knowledge in Blackbaud a plus (Raiser’s Edge and NXT)
Certificates and Licenses:
- Newly hired employees will have a background check completed
- Required to completed Sexual Harassment Prevention Training, Preventing Child Sexual Abuse Training and Van Safety Training.
- Newly hired employees will be subject to an MVR check

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Noise level is moderate.
Work Environment:
Office/School/Donor Meetings on and off site
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
