What You’ll Do

As the Development Electrical Engineer of (Hardware/Firmware), you will develop/integrate/interface with the various components that comprise our product suite to generate better blasting solutions. This includes blasting control equipment and detonators. You will design and develop systems and solutions to meet the increasing demand for technologies that improve blasting outcomes in our drive towards automated technologies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Altium Designer, Mentor or similar PCB design software skills.
  • Experience on electromagnetic compatibility testing and certification advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electronic communication networks, such as CAN, NFC, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, RS485 or similar beneficial.
  • Knowledge of impedance control, EMC design, signal and power integrity and RF design beneficial.
  • Knowledge of any safety and risk reduction standards such as SIL and RTCA is beneficial.
  • Measuring and testing experience with various types of equipment such as oscilloscopes or spectrum analyzers beneficial.
  • Embedded C programming language skills preferential.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux beneficial.
  • Digital design skills with Verilog/VHDL and FPGAs/ CPLDs beneficial.
  • Knowledge of system engineering principles, design, testing, documentation processes advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to write technical reports, user requirement specifications, technical data sheets, test plans and reports, and validation plans.
  • Experience in Software Development a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and make recommendations for equipment upgrades.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Ability to create electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics for new equipment, and equipment upgrades.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple projects simultaneously.

Other duties will include:

  • Design, develop and qualify products and sub-components according to system specifications and user requirements.
  • Schematic capture and PCB design
  • Data pack and hardware documentation, including version and configuration control.
  • Design and qualify products to various international regulatory bodies standards, such as CE, IEC, FCC, ICASA.
  • Integration and testing of various designed subcomponents.
  • Design (or contribute toward) testing equipment for various products and subcomponents.
  • Embedded software development in C.
  • Keep abreast of global developments in new technologies and embedded firmware to provide direction with regard to software development.
  • Idea/patent/IP generation through innovation and technological development.
  • Provide engineering support to production, qualifications, marketing, and operations teams.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical engineering or related field.
