What life experiences and skills will set you up to excel in this role? Qualifications?

Electrical engineering

  • Design and test PCBs that integrate into a complex electro-mechanical medical device
  • Architect electrical systems in compliance with IEC 60601 and/or 61010
  • Design and debug EMI/EMC issues to ensure compliance with IEC 60601-1-2

Hardware-software integrations

  • Interface with software engineers to integrate software and hardware components
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve software-hardware interface issues

System optimization

  • Analyze and optimize the performance of embedded systems, considering factors such as power consumption, speed, and reliability.
  • Implement best practices for hardware efficiency and resource utilization.

Documentation

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for design, implementation, and testing processes in accordance with IEC 13485, 14971
  • Generate comprehensive reports for project milestones and contribute to technical documentation for end-users

RF experience (optional)

  • Experience designing NMR pulse/acquisition hardware and/or software blending analog and digital design techniques
  • Experience with real-time frequency analysis and signal processing
  • Experience designing, tuning and testing pulse/acquisition coils for NMR and/or MRI

Mechanical engineering experience (optional):

  • Work closely with mechanical engineers to understand system requirements and contribute to the design of electromechanical systems.
  • Collaborate on projects that involve both electrical and mechanical components.
