What life experiences and skills will set you up to excel in this role? Qualifications?

Magnet Design:

  • Lead the design and development of magnetic fields using permanent, rare earth magnets for various applications, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Lead design and sourcing of permanent magnets and magnet assembly

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Simulations:

  • Conduct FEA simulations to model and analyze the electromagnetic and thermal behavior of permanents magnets.
  • Use simulation results to optimize magnet designs and predict performance under different conditions.

Testing and Validation:

  • Plan and execute comprehensive testing protocols for magnets, including performance testing under various conditions.
  • Analyze test results and iteratively refine designs for enhanced performance and reliability.

Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams:

  • Work closely with electrical engineers, physicists, and other specialists to integrate superconducting magnets into broader systems.
  • Collaborate on multidisciplinary projects to ensure seamless integration of magnet systems.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create detailed documentation for magnet designs, magnet assemblies, and simulation methodologies.
  • Generate reports on testing outcomes, design iterations, and project milestones.

Quality Control and Compliance:

  • Establish quality control processes to ensure the production of magnets and magnet assemblies meets performance and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
