Systems West Engineers (SWE) is seeking a senior mechanical engineer and seasoned project manager to join our Division of Engineering in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Your Role As a Project Manager at SWE, you will lead multidisciplinary MEP design projects, maintain key client relationships and develop new clients, and contribute to high-quality, efficient project execution. You’ll provide senior-level oversight, guide internal teams, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
Key Competencies
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of building systems, particularly in institutional and infrastructure-rich environments.
- HVAC and central plant systems (boilers, chillers, steam).
- Utility distribution systems.
- Experience in healthcare and lab environments is strongly preferred.
Leadership & EQ
- Leads with situational awareness, courageous authenticity, and a growth mindset.
- Inspires collaboration, resolves conflict, and communicates with clarity.
- Builds strong internal and external partnerships with long-term value.
- Proactively mentors junior staff and fosters team development.

Minimum Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PE)
- 15+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, including significant project management responsibilities
- Demonstrated success leading complex MEP design projects
- Proven experience mentoring technical staff and managing client relationships

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position. Competitive salary starting at $150,000, DOE. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401K retirement plan with employer contributions and company performance bonus.
Position Location
This leadership position is located in our Bend, OR office and will report to our primary office located in Springfield, Oregon. The candidate will be expected to reside within a reasonable local location to accommodate consistent in-office and project site participation. Additionally, flexible hybrid schedules are commonplace and accommodated for most positions. At Systems West, hybrid means you live locally and have the option to work from home.
