Full job description

Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Molecular Biologist to join our gene editing team

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, and expressing recombinant DNA and plasmid.
  • Carry out expression characterization in DNA and RNA.
  • Optimize plasmid incorporation and other desired properties into host silkworm eggs through targeted genetic modifications and other molecular engineering approaches.
  • Routinely track and document results in laboratory notebooks, databases, and technical reports.
  • Analyze, summarize, and present experimental results to manager and other team members.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze the results with accuracy and precision.
  • Supervise installation, maintenance, and operation of lab instrumentation.
  • Manage laboratory materials and resources.

Position Requirements:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genomics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Extensive experience with general molecular biology and scientific research methods including; plasmid design and construction, DNA analysis, and gene modification.
  • Hands-on expertise with multiple gene editing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage research projects.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in laboratory requirements as needed.
  • Successful candidates will have a solid work history with various molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques.
  • Ideal candidates will have working experience in the genetic editing of hard eggshell insects.

This is a leadership position with a rapidly growing biotech company. This role with interface directly with executive leadership in both a business and technical capacity. This position will be responsible for executing the research agenda and leading laboratory operations.
