Senior Pastor

Job Description Summary: West Springs Church is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Pastor to guide our congregation in fulfilling our mission and values. The ideal candidate will be a Gospel-centered expositor of Scripture, possess a shepherd’s heart, and have significant leadership experience. This role involves teaching, vision casting, and leadership development, with a focus on fostering a vibrant, missional church culture.

Qualifications:

• Meet the character qualifications of an Elder as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-12 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Accountable to a plurality of elders, serving alongside the Elders and Leadership Team.
• Model a growing, vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, an active prayer life, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading.
• MDiv or equivalent from an accredited, theologically-aligned seminary (consideration given to those making progress toward the degree).
• A Gospel-centered expositor of Scripture in teaching.
• Possess a shepherd’s heart, cultivating relationships to make disciples.
• Minimum of 5 years of significant leadership experience, including staff oversight and demonstrated growth in effectiveness and outcomes.
• Our church holds a complementarian position on the ordination of women; therefore, we seek a man who is either complementarian or comfortable pastoring a complementarian church without making it an issue.
• Supports a biblical view of marriage and sexuality.

Responsibilities:

• Spend the majority of time, focus, and energy on teaching, vision casting, and leadership development.
• Prepare and deliver compelling, expository sermons that are relevant, uncompromising, and true to Scripture.
• Serve as the primary preacher, occasionally sharing the role with Elder-approved guests.
• Collaborate with worship teams to develop and deliver weekly and seasonal worship services in predominantly contemporary formats.
• Maintain a missional focus for the church and foster a value-based congregational culture.
• Disciple and develop key staff and church leadership.
• Identify and develop new leaders within the church.
• Implement strategies with the pastoral team, staff, and leadership to align ministries with the Mission and Core Values of West Springs Church.
• Work with the pastoral team, staff, and church leadership to develop a mission-driven annual plan and budget.
• Maintain personal accountability to the Elder Team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
