Senior PHP Laravel Developer

Position Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and independent Senior PHP Laravel Developer to join our team. This managerial role involves meeting with other teams at the company, creating solutions, and implementing software architecture decisions. You will be responsible for owning this process and being the “expert” in this area of the company. In addition, this role will require you to lead and mentor a small team of developers who will be working on the same goals as yourself.

This role's responsibilities would require 30% of time spent on feature development. 70% of time would be devoted to planning with internal stakeholders, architecting new requests, and mentoring/monitoring other developers.

We are looking for a candidate who is able to ask great questions and tackle any challenge or idea that is brought to them. They should have good communication and management skills, as well as serious development chops.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop & Architect solutions:
• Design, develop, and maintain complex web applications using Laravel and PHP. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Optimize database schemas and queries, develop robust APIs, and implement security measures. Conduct thorough code reviews and write comprehensive tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders:
• Meet with both product managers and business operations teams to develop solutions. Work to improve the internal fulfillment process and help increase efficiency of all agents using the application.
• Mentor and lead developers:
• Guide and mentor other developers, sharing knowledge and best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Provide technical leadership, solve complex problems, and drive innovation within the team.
• Focus on Continual Improvement of the application:
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in web development and Laravel. Deploy applications to production environments and troubleshoot issues. Create clear and concise documentation for applications and processes. Continuously seek opportunities to improve development processes and tools.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience with Laravel
• 5+ years of professional web development experience
• Solid understanding of software architecture and design principles, with an emphasis on database query optimization and caching
• Communication skills, especially when speaking to non-technical individuals about technical issues
• Experience with admin dashboards and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Vue, particularly Vue 3 and Typescript
• Experience with Tailwind CSS
• Experience working with company operations and/or order fulfillment
