Sosogu Sushi & Japanese BBQ is a NEW RESTAURANT opening in Dec 2024. We are hiring for all positions. Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age or 21 years of age for Bartenders/Alcohol Servers
- Previous experience in the food industry.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Familiarity with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus.
- Ability to operate POS systems efficiently for order processing.
- Knowledge of food handling safety practices is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn are highly valued.
- Mobility (walking, standing, stooping, bending, reaching, etc.) required during the entire shift.
- Ability to pick up and carry plates, drinks, glassware, trays, highchairs, etc.
- Reading, memorizing, recalling, writing and verbal communication skills required.
- Capable of using telephone, cash register and order tablets, host desk computer interface.
- Capable of basic math, maintaining checks, accurately ringing in orders.
Essential Job Functions
- Regular attendance and compliance with employee handbook and training manuals
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Present menus and provide detailed information about food and beverage offerings.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.
- Assist with food preparation and ensure proper handling of all food items according to safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including bussing tables promptly after guests leave.
- Address guest inquiries or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
- Upsell menu items when appropriate to enhance the dining experience.
- Interact with co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner (i.e., a warm smile and sincere greeting)
- Bring/Clear dishware
- Prepare and run food, drinks, beverages, sides, etc. to tables
- Ensure grill tables are serviced and assisted properly and safely
- Answer phones when host is busy or away from the host desk
- Perform basic cleaning, and sanitization practices
- Maintain calm under pressure, or during high volume of guests
- Provide excellent guest service as outlined in employee training materials
- Practice proper sanitization and food handling measures at all times
- Maintain safe customer and work areas at all times for safety of all
- Clean and organize restaurant as directed and follow daily, weekly, and extra cleaning schedules
- Organize and put away daily deliveries in proper storage areas as needed
- Assist teammates and managers as needed or requested

This is a non-exempt position that reports directly to the managers/supervisors.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies, and repetitive hand and wrist motion; working with and around hot, cold, and hazardous equipment in a fast paced and congested environment that will occasionally be loud, hot and/or physically demanding.
