Full job description
As the first level of management, a Shift Leader is expected to maintain day-to-day operations at the Dojo, as well as some office administration work. Shift Leaders work both in the front on the line, and in the back in the kitchen during the day. They are leaders, and with that, they have to provide the best example for their team members, as well as have good team management skills. It’s up to the Shift Leaders to make sure that things at the Dojo run smoothly for the day!
The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining a positive customer experience by ensuring safe and quality food is prepared and served, and that the restaurant team members are well trained and provide good customer service. He/she maintains a clean, organized line with properly functioning line equipment. The responsibilities of this position require Shift Leaders to be on their feet working while clocked in, unless on break. If they are not busy, they are expected to evaluate what other tasks need to be completed, and assist others with those tasks
Responsibilities
- Interact regularly with customers ensuring a positive experience
- Coordinate and facilitate staff member's tasks to ensure timely execution
- Train and develop new team members to company standard
- Accurately process and reconcile shift payment transactions
- Motivate staff while working towards one goal
Qualifications
- Outgoing and engaging personality
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Able to resolve conflicts quickly and efficiently
- Experience in a leadership role is a definite plus
