OVERVIEW

Cottonwood Mill + Cabinet, Inc. is a growing high end custom cabinet + millwork company located in the Salt Lake Metro Area, providing services to the Mountain West States, Florida + Mexico. As the Shipping + Supply Chain Manager, this role is essential for coordinating + managing the efficient flow of materials, inventory + finished products. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational + problem-solving skills, an understanding of supply chain principles, a commitment to ensuring timely + accurate delivery of materials to meet production needs + client expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Oversee + coordinate the receipt, storage + distribution of finished goods to ensure production schedules are met.

· Manage inventory levels, track stock + order materials as needed to maintain optimal supply levels.

· Develop + implement shipping strategies to ensure on-time delivery of products to clients.

· Perform quality inspections on incoming materials as well as final inspections on cabinet parts, dimensions, + finishes to ensure they meet required standards.

· Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists + invoices.

· Coordinate with production, warehouse + purchasing teams to ensure seamless workflow + resolve any supply chain issues.

· Evaluate + manage carrier performance + negotiate contracts with suppliers, freight forwarders + other logistics partners.

· Responsible for local + out-of-state deliveries when necessary to meet client needs.

· Maintain a clean + organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

· Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency + reduce costs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Shipping + Supply Chain Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing, woodworking, or cabinetry industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, logistics + supply chain principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail + organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently + as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills + a collaborative attitude.
  • Must operate with a sense of urgency.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
  • Able to read + understand a tape measure.
  • Commitment to quality + a passion for delivering outstanding results.
  • Physical ability to lift + carry heavy items (up to 75 pounds) + perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, bending, or moving of materials.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS + ATTITUDES

  • Technical skills: The Shipping + Supply Chain Manager must have the technical abilities to manage inventory systems, logistics software + related resources that they will use to complete tasks effectively.
  • Communication skills: Strong verbal + written communication skills are essential to this role. The ability to convey complex information clearly + collaborate effectively with team members, suppliers + logistics partners is crucial.
  • Attention to detail: The Shipping + Supply Chain Manager needs sharp attention to detail to maintain high standards of accuracy, quality + safety throughout the operations. Sharp attention to detail is necessary to ensure accurate inventory records, correct documentation, and the on-time delivery of materials + finished products.
  • Problem-solving skills: This position will use problem-solving skills to find solutions to challenges they encounter on the job. They need the ability to work collaboratively with others, resolving any issues that arise + contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude: As the Shipping + Supply Chain Manager, you will need proficiency in using inventory management software + tools is required. You should be able to read technical drawings, understand product specifications + adjust logistics plans as needed to meet production + delivery goals.

JOB TYPE

  • Full-time.
  • Monday – Friday.
  • On-site – Draper, UT.
  • Highly physical. Must be able to lift heavy items, stand for multiple hours + withstand a variety of climates in the warehouse.
