Job Overview
As a Shop Manager you will be responsible for working in a team environment to successfully manage and operate a Machine and Fabrication Shop. You will be responsible for all aspects of daily operations as well as future planning and growth. This position is salary pay and reports to the owner/s.

Base Salary pay is $60,000 / year

Responsibilities / Requirements

  • Be able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Follow all Pertech shop processes and policies.
  • Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to work on feet throughout a shift.
  • Math skills to take precise measurements and make calculations.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills to develop effective manufacturing plans based on specifications.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team atmosphere to review production schedules and day to day tasks.
  • Practice and direct team in working safely and adhere to all Pertech safety guidelines.
  • Create / execute growth plans and goals for shop and report quarterly to owner/s.
  • Manage all scheduling
  • Communicate with new and existing customers for gathering new work.
  • Ability to find new customers.
  • Manage team of T1-T3 machinist.
  • Quote new incoming machining and fabrication jobs.
  • Review current machining jobs for profit / loss.
  • Work with engineering team for needed drawings and models.
  • Manage all material procurement.
  • Find and hire new employees to fill needed machinist and fabricator positions when needed.
  • Terminate employees when performance evaluations are repeatedly not met.
  • Conduct performance evaluations with each employee under your direct supervision. • Implement and maintain preventive maintenance program.
  • Review / Inspect orderliness and housekeeping to maintain company standards.
  • Maintain building and grounds to company standards.
  • Monitor shop costs on a weekly basis and report to owner/s
  • Oversee and direct quality department for 100% part conformance.
  • Monitor / improve perishable tooling usage.
  • Adhere to project timelines and provide regular project updates
