Shop Mechanic

To perform maintenance, welding for maintenance, repair and rebuilding jobs in Hoover’s service shop or in the field on Highway & Heavy Equipment, in a safe, efficient and capable manner.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair surface mobile equipment such as Drills, Excavators, Dozers, Loaders, Haul Trucks and Heavy and Light duty support equipment.
• Intermediate welding and fabrication.
• Diesel and gas engine trouble shooting and repair skills.
• Trouble-Shoot, diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components of mobile mining equipment.
• Responsible for pre-shift inspection of work areas and equipment and responds appropriate.
• Must have basic understanding of Planned Maintenance Programs, and experience working with the computers, diagnosis of equipment components on equipment.
• Additional requirements include excellent skills in ordering, of parts and materials.

Required Skills
A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a company vehicle. Driving record must show no more than three moving violations in the past three years and no DUI’s for the past five years. Good knowledge and usage of English preferred. Driving requires adjusting handwheels and depressing pedals to drive. Requires current DOT Medical Card and ability to read and understand maps. CDL helpful. Certified Welders Preferred. Two year degree relevant to mechanical.

Preferred Skills
One of the following two year Diplomas: in Diesel Mechanics / Heavy Equipment Maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
