Simulation/Game Designer

CODE Plus, Inc., an IT government contractor, located in Fairfax Virginia with 28 years of experience within the Federal Agencies and Local government space is seeking a skilled Simulation Designer who specializes in scripting and 3D modeling. The ideal candidate will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to conceptualize, design, and implement gameplay mechanics, levels, and interactive elements. You will be responsible for developing compelling game narratives, designing characters and environments, and utilizing your technical skills to bring these visions to life.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, and sound designers, to design and implement engaging gameplay features and mechanics.
• Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including game concepts, mechanics, and level designs.
• Utilize scripting languages and 3D modeling software to prototype and implement interactive elements, character behaviors, and environmental assets.
• Develop and balance game systems, including character abilities, item properties, and in-game economies.
• Manage 3D assets, textures, animations, materials, objects, and environments.
• Iterate and refine gameplay based on playtesting feedback and team collaboration.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance game design and user experience.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in game design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Firm grasp of developing and deploying VR/AR projects
• Proven experience in game design, scripting, and 3D modeling.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as C#, Python, or Lua, and experience with game engines like Unity, Godot, or Unreal.
• Strong understanding of 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) and texturing tools.
• Creative mindset with the ability to generate unique and innovative ideas.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
