Main Line Senior Services is seeking a compassionate, caring, and resourceful Social Worker to join our dynamic team at Wayne Senior Center! This position is responsible for information and referral services for older adults and their families, coordinating and implementing peer support groups at the Center, and coordinating and educating participants through resource/informational programs. General knowledge of aging network and community resources is helpful. This position is full-time with a full benefits package including medical, PTO, and retirement contribution. Position is scheduled 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and/or weekend responsibilities. Hybrid options available. MSW/MSS degree required. Salary $42,000-$45,000 DOE. Reports to the Program Director.

Job Description:

·Provide care management and information and referral services to support older adults and their families served by the organization. Assist staff with participants having social service-related issues. Assist staff with determining if participants are appropriate for the services offered by the Center and make appropriate referrals.

· Coordinate and lead both in person and virtual wellness peer support groups.

· Coordinate distribution of Senior Farmers Market Vouchers in summer. Provide assistance completing applications for benefits including TANF, LIHEAP, SNAP, PA Rent/Property Tax Rebates etc.

· Coordinate PA Medi appointments with PA Medi volunteers.

· Collaborate with program staff on health and wellness and resource/informational programming.

· Ability to make home visits to older adults in community (determined on as needed basis for assessment purposes).


· Coordinates outreach activities to broaden network of community partners and local support resources.

· Maintains direct contact with local, state and national organizations that provide information and resources to the senior population.

· Develops and maintains SupportNet policies and procedures.

· Develops information & referral educational resources for the Center and members.

· Maintains all necessary case records, reports and statistical data.

· Some flexibility necessary for work hours and location (Occasional offsite or early evening programs may occur).

· Other duties as necessary.


· Knowledge of human behavior and specific needs of the aging population. Respect and compassion for older adults.

· Working knowledge of aging network and community resources.

· Knowledge of casework principles and assessment and evaluation methods.

· Experience in community outreach and client advocacy.

· Experience in group dynamics and facilitating groups.

· Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

· Ability to plan and organize work to achieve program objectives.

· Positive attitude and respectful sense of humor are essential.

· Ability to handle emergency situations. Willing to complete AED/CPR Certification.

· Valid Driver’s License and auto insurance as required by the state.


· Master’s in Social Work or Master’s Social Service degree from an accredited university and at least one year of professional social work experience required.
