Cantata Health is looking for a Software Developer to join our team. The Software Developer performs wide range of application development through analysis, design, evaluation, development, coding, testing, and maintenance of complex application systems. The Software Developer participates in the implementation, maintenance, design, front and back end application development, roll out, migration, integration, upgrades, testing, performance tuning, research and development of all assigned software applications and documents procedures for installation and maintenance. The Lead Software Developer may serve as the subject matter expert for some high-level application development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Design and develop complex and high-level software applications by applying programming principles, practices, and design patterns to successfully implement and deploy system solutions.
  • Write, test, and debug complex programs in one or more languages, working from program specifications and apply in-depth knowledge of structured program design concepts.
  • Develop work plans and technical documents covering system architecture, conversion, integration testing, and implementation for a system or complex enhancement system; create product and/or system documentation (i.e. process flow, wireframe with detailed functionality description/configuration, security threat modeling).
  • Lead in the identification, analysis and resolution of complex application problems.
  • Write complex codes using (insert the appropriate programming here); write web services to interface with multiple internal and external systems.
  • Perform code reviews, high level system architecture, mid-level component design, and resolve various logical and technical issues
  • Performing functional testing and debugging of Cantata Health Solutions products.
  • Develop technical documentation and revise existing technical documentation for Cantata Health Solutions products.
  • Understand the regulatory bodies that cover the health and human services industry and stay abreast of regulatory policy and upcoming policy changes.
  • Perform the installation and implementation of Cantata Health Solutions products.
  • Train customers on the proper designed use of Cantata Health Solutions products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Information Systems, or other closely related field
  • 3 years professional work experience as a Software Developer
  • Demonstrated ability to perform high-level and complex coding, testing and debugging of application programs and web development
  • Strong working knowledge of PHP and SQL
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to use effective and results-oriented problem solving and critical thinking skills; strong troubleshooting ability
  • Strong ability to understand and interpret customer needs; customer-centric; ability to proactively work with diverse work teams (i.e. Sales, Operations, Human Resources, Quality)
  • Strong interpersonal and people skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong and effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Pays very close attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment on assigned projects from inception to completion

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years professional experience as a Software Developer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science or other closely related field
