OVERVIEW

We are looking to selectively grow our team and identify a detailed Accountant to work with existing staff on both property and corporate level accounting needs. This individual will be instrumental to helping our firm, our investors, our tenants and the balance of our employees thrive. The ideal person will be reliable, detail oriented and willing to roll up their sleeves. He/she will be tasked with involvement in AP/AR and data entry associated with our existing portfolio of approximately 4.0M + SF of office, industrial, retail and multifamily assets, alongside our corporate operating entities. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Keeping account books and systems up to date
  • Resolving any discrepancies or irregularities identified in records, statements, or documented transactions
  • Ensuring all financial records and statements are in line with laws, regulations, and GAAP
  • Compiling the information needed to prepare journal entries for the general ledgers
  • Learning established AppFolio accounting procedures
  • Preparing and reviewing invoices for tenants and vendors & ensure timely payment
  • Monthly bank account reconciliations
  • Generating financial report groups and compilation of monthly financial reports
  • Developing, reviewing, maintaining and improving accounting practices and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Must exhibit high moral and ethical standards working in a fiduciary role
  • Enhanced numerical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Time management, self-management
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • Real Estate Management accounting a plus, particularly with AppFolio or other comparable systems
  • Corporate or commercial finance a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products - Excel a must

DAILY AND MONTHLY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enter, process and pay AP invoices
  • Record AR payments
  • Routine journal entries
  • Check outstanding AR/AP
  • Manage scheduled billing
  • Prepare month end financial reports
  • Work alongside accounting staff to execute check runs and mailings as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
