The Opportunity:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and adaptable Staff Accountant to join our collaborative finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career and gain broad exposure to multiple areas of accounting within a dynamic and supportive environment.
As a Staff Accountant, you will work closely with the Controller and provide support across a wide range of accounting functions, stepping in where your expertise is most needed. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Controller in managing the monthly close process, including transactional entries related to accounts receivable, inventory, prepaids, accruals, standard journal entries, and depreciation.
- Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including bank and cash reconciliations, and reconcile subledgers to the general ledger.
- Maintain and analyze prepaid schedules and prepare monthly cost allocations.
- Assist with bank deposits and ensure timely reconciliation of all cash accounts.
- Conduct income statement account variance analysis.
- Provide occasional support to the AP, AR and Deductions Teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
- Assist with preparing reports for budgeting and forecasting purposes.
- Participate in audits, process improvement initiatives, and special projects as assigned.
- Help maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Understanding of accounting practices and month-end close procedures.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a team-oriented attitude.
