Vision Communities is seeking a Staff Accountant to provide financial and accounting support to the organization and company personnel. Vision Communities, a fast-growing developer and manager of Class A properties, is headquartered in Upper Arlington, OH and has properties throughout central Ohio and northeastern Ohio.
The individual will support all divisions of the company, with their primary focus on operations, which include residential and commercial properties. This position is full-time, exempt, and reports directly to the Controller.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing oversight over operational accounting responsibilities
- Daily and monthly responsibilities include:
- Month-end close and financial reporting
- Cost variance analysis
- General ledger maintenance
- Accounts payable and vendor management
- Asset and resource allocations
- Recording of capital expenditures, depreciation and equity contributions/distributions
- Intercompany reconciliations
- Facilitate the Company credit card tracking and accounting process.
- Provide necessary support to the Accounts Payable Manager
- Support Operations team with ensuring risk management policies are in place.
- Utilize technology in a forward-thinking manner to continue to drive new business efficiencies and investor solutions.
- Other duties as directed and assigned.
Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study required.
- Previous experience in real estate development / construction / property management companies is a plus.
- Proficient with MS Office suite and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks/Sage Intacct)
- Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and aptitude for numbers
- Must have the ability to manage multiple demands concurrently in an organized manner.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work in a team-oriented, high-pace environment.
