We are seeking an Accounting/Bookkeeping & Tax Clerk to support our expanding tax, payroll, and accounting operations during peak season. This contract role may lead to long-term or full-time opportunities and is ideal for someone seeking broad, résumé-building exposure beyond traditional tax compliance and transactional bookkeeping – including advisory, finance operations support, and consulting experience seldom available in small firm environments.
Type: Contract – 6 Months (Seasonal); Opportunity for Long-Term Extension/Full-Time
Location: Hybrid (Canton) initially; Remote with Availability
Position Summary
The Accounting/Bookkeeping & Tax Clerk supports SUIG’s tax, payroll, accounting operations, and finance workflows, playing an essential role in keeping client and internal processes running smoothly during peak periods. This role goes beyond basic data entry or transactional bookkeeping – it provides hands-on exposure to real-world finance operations, including month-end support, workpaper preparation, financial organization, simple tax return drafting, payroll support, and system clean-up aligned with SUIG’s AFO and CFO pathways.
This position is ideal for:
· Early-career professionals who want to build strong technical foundations and gain exposure to advisory-leaning work in a dynamic environment.
· Experienced bookkeepers, tax admins, or clerks seeking to strengthen analytical skills, elevate beyond transactional work, and learn how finance functions support scaling businesses.
· Seasonal or part-time professionals looking for flexible hours during tax season who still want meaningful, résumé-enhancing work that extends beyond traditional compliance roles.
Whether early-career or experienced, the right candidate will be detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of supporting higher-level staff through disciplined execution and strong organizational skills – with long-term potential for growth into AFO, tax, advisory, or senior support roles.
