Who we are:
ReSOURCE is an innovative non-profit organization since 1991, with the mission to empower individuals and strengthen Vermont communities through workforce development, poverty relief, and environmental stewardship.
Our community recognizes the value of donating excess goods, and its positive effects on our environment. ReSOURCE prevents more than 1,000 tons of material from ending up in our landfills each year by finding new homes for major appliances, building materials, computers, electronics, furniture, clothing and other household goods donated to our four stores.
What you’ll do:
As the Store Manager you and your team will work together to create a marketplace for reuse while providing new opportunities to the under skilled and long term unemployed.
This includes leading a small staff and volunteers, customer care, monitoring the donations and pricing process, merchandising, financial oversight and cash handling, attaining sales goals and revenues, supporting the mission while maintaining a fun and engaging community marketplace.
You will work with the General Manager for operational, marketing and organizational support.
You’ll be a part of the bigger ReSOURCE management team supporting innovation and change within the organization.
The hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 -5. Closed on major holidays.
Goals of the Position:
Manager will maintain and develop effective and efficient operating procedures and policies that reflect the organization’s commitment to reuse, job skill training and poverty relief.
- Manage a reuse operation in Chittenden County modeled on ReSOURCE’s mission.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintain and develop a well-run, professional, safe, clean and profitable reuse retail store with satisfied customers and smooth flowing systems and procedures, practiced by all of ReSOURCE.
- Provide training opportunities for trainees enrolled in ReSOURCE’s training programs.
- Eliminate avoidable wasted time, effort and energy at every opportunity.
- Support the mission of ReSOURCE.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer service.
- Experience leading/supervising/training others.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Have strong attendance record.
- Cash management experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
- Positive, cooperative team spirit.
- Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to use them with a variety of audiences.
- Commitment to ReSOURCE’s mission.
