Full job description
Metropolitan Companies is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing team! In this role you will collaborate closely with our architectural team to deliver integrated and innovative solutions for residential projects. Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead the structural engineering department within the firm.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to develop structural plans and designs for residential projects.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Perform structural analysis and calculations to determine load capacities, material requirements, and safety factors.
- Prepare detailed structural drawings and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Review and approve structural designs, ensuring they meet project requirements and client expectations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
- Coordinate with contractors, construction managers, and other professionals to oversee the implementation of structural designs.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices to continuously improve the quality and efficiency of our structural engineering services.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate structural concepts and solutions effectively.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on multi-family residential projects.
- Architectural design software skills, specifically ArchiCAD (Revit experience may be considered, although ArchiCAD is the established platform).
- Proficiency in structural analysis software.
- Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction practices.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $135,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
