Student Employment Coordinator (South)
Reports To: Partnerships Manager Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
ABOUT SKILLPOINT ALLIANCE AND THIS POSITION: Skillpoint Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides rapid , job training programs in the skilled trades and advanced manufacturing industries for underserved populations. Programs are provided for free to qualified students, determined by income levels and residency. Skillpoint’s mission is to break the poverty cycle through high-quality training and credential programs.

Skillpoint Alliance is looking for a client-focused professional to support program participants in obtaining employment in family-sustaining careers. This position will focus on Skillpoint’s, HVAC, Plumbing and advanced manufacturing programs located in the South Central Texas area, including South Austin/Travis County (Del Valle), Hays County (San Marcos) and Comal County (New Braunfels).
The Student Employment Coordinator is a key position that ensures each participant has the skills, knowledge, and resources they need to complete and obtain continuous employment in the skilled trades or manufacturing industries upon completion of their training with Skillpoint. The Student Employment Coordinator position is critical in ensuring that Skillpoint graduates secure and maintain employment after graduation.
This includes the following responsibilities:
- Support students in securing employment in skilled trades or manufacturing after training.
- Work with Student Success Coordinators and Instructors to transition graduates into the workforce.
- Build and maintain relationships with employers.
- Identify and address barriers to employment for participants.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and career training workshops.
- Track graduate progress, document outcomes, and follow up with graduates and employers.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION:
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in Business, Social Services, or related area, or an Associate’s Degree in Education, Administration, Human Services or related field and 3 years’ relevant experience or High School Diploma with minimum of at least 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- In-person position, office Based in Del Valle, TX. Must have a car for frequent travel to Skillpoint’s New Braunfels manufacturing class.
- Familiarity with Hays and Comal County areas is preferred.
