Full job description
Own the flow that powers our business! As a Supply Chain Specialist, you’ll drive efficiency, solve real-world challenges, and collaborate across teams to keep operations running smoothly, making a direct impact every day.
We will begin reviewing applications the week of April 13th and will keep the post open until position is filled
ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
30 days and ongoing:
- Learns Puget Systems’ products and services, processes, procedures, and purpose as well as its customers and its position in the industry.
- Reviews and gains a basic familiarity with platforms and procedures for inbound receiving, inventory control and order picking, and outbound shipping, including final chassis preparation and packaging.
- Gains familiarity with Puget Systems’ core product offerings and related components, and is able to ask questions to the right people when needed.
- Attends new hire orientation and engages with meet-and-greets with all departments, acquiring knowledge about individual roles, understanding the organizational culture, workflow dynamics, overall business operations, and establishing initial connections for relationship-building.
- Completes prerequisite training for new hires through the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Engages in a 30-day check in with the Direct Manager, the People and Culture Manager, and the President to discuss progress, address concerns, and align goals.
- Participates in regular meetings with the Direct Manager and the Team Lead to discuss progress, achievements, and areas for further development.
- Attends and actively participates in departmental and cross-departmental meetings, as well as all-staff meetings to stay informed, contribute insights, and foster collaboration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
3 months and ongoing:
- Proficient with all of Puget Systems’ regular daily procedures for inbound receiving, inventory control and order picking, and outbound shipping, including final chassis preparation and packaging. Able to execute with limited supervision.
- Familiar with all categories and components stocked by Puget Systems for incorporation into system builds. Has general familiarity with industry standard products and terminology.
- Contributes to the outbound shipping process for complex orders, including LTL, palletized, and special handling.
- Shadows the RMA process and is familiar with key decision points, including vendor policies and detach requests.
- Participates in and contributes to inventory cycle counts.
- Has reviewed and understands the supply chain opening and closing procedures.
6 months and ongoing:
- No longer needs immediate supervision to execute regular daily procedures for inbound receiving, inventory control and order picking, and outbound shipping, including final chassis preparation and packaging.
- Proficient in all categories and components stocked by Puget Systems for incorporation into system builds. Understands industry standard products and terminology, and can identify the differences between components.
- Executes the outbound shipping process for complex orders, including LTL, palletized, and special handling with limited supervision.
- Initiates and performs the check-in for the RMA process.
- Certified as PIT operator for Puget Systems.
- Understands logistics through our 3PL providers, and executes with supervision.
- Understands Puget Systems’ expectations for customer service, including SLAs, adjustments, and expedited requests.
12 months and ongoing:
- Fully contributes to regular daily procedures for inbound receiving, inventory control and order picking, and outbound shipping, including final chassis preparation and packaging.
- Competent in all categories and components stocked by Puget Systems for incorporation into system builds.
- With few exceptions, executes the outbound shipping process for complex orders, including LTL, palletized, export/international, and special handling without supervision.
- Performs end-to-end standard RMA process.
- Understands and executes logistics through our 3PL providers.
- Shadows supply chain-adjacent department(s), and familiar with vendor base and purchasing procedures.
- Delivers proactive and excellent customer service through meeting SLAs, including adjustments and expedited requests as needed.
- Familiar enough with the Assembly process to contribute in an overflow capacity as needed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Proficiency with standard business software, such as Google or Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Teams, Zoom, etc. required
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing required
- 1+ year of experience in a supply chain or warehouse environment using automated inventory controls required
- 1+ year experience working with supply chain solutions including ERP systems, TMS / WMS, highly preferred
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and inventory control industry best practices highly preferred
- Experience with forklifts and other PIT equipment preferred
- Familiarity with computer hardware industry a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess mobility to work in a warehouse environment including standing for prolonged period, bending, twisting, and medium-duty work
- Regularly lift and carry up to 55 lbs and push, pull up to 70lbs, with proper equipment
- Operate industrial equipment such as pallet jacks, stock chasers, lifts, etc
- Climb and descend portable stairs and ladders frequently
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INCLUDE:
- The compensation range for this position is $22.50 - $27.50 per hour, based on skillset and experience level. This represents the range for a Tier 1 Supply Chain Specialist.
- In cases where a candidate has significant experience, they may be hired at a Tier 2 Supply Chain Specialist. In this case, the range is $26 - $33 / hour.
