Job Overview
The Systems Development Director plays a critical role in advancing the implementation of the Pyramid Model across states, providences, territories, and regions by supporting State Leadership Teams (SLTs) in exploring, installing, scaling, and sustaining effective practices. This position involves overseeing SLT Consultants, facilitating collaboration, engaging in strategic planning, and contributing to national discourse on leadership in early childhood education. The Systems Development Director would work closely with Pyramid Model Consortium Executive Office and Faculty to promote the dissemination, sustainability, scale-up, and high-fidelity use of the Pyramid Model for supporting social-emotional competence in infants and young children.

Responsibilities

Support State Leadership Teams (SLTs)

  • Collaborate with new and established SLTs to explore and implement the Pyramid Model’s four essential structures:
  • ○ State Leadership Team
  • ○ Professional Development Network,
  • ○ Implementation Sites,
  • ○ Data and Evaluation
  • Provide guidance in scaling and sustaining these efforts to ensure high fidelity of implementation of Pyramid Model.

Oversee SLT Consultants

Manage and mentor SLT Consultants to support their work with SLTs nationwide, ensuring alignment with contracted priorities. Conduct monthly individual sessions with each consultant to review implementation progress, address challenges, and strategize for growth and sustainability.

Facilitate Collaborative Meetings

Plan, host, and facilitate bi-monthly virtual meetings with all SLT Consultants to promote networking, problem-solving, and shared learning of implementation efforts.

Engage in Technical Assistance

Provide targeted technical assistance and strategic planning support to teams, programs, and agencies focused on short- and long-term priorities related to t Pyramid Model implementation.

Conference and Event Participation

  • Organize and implement the Pyramid Leadership and Networking (PLAN) Day during the annual National Training Institute (NTI) , fostering collaboration and learning among participants.
  • Deliver presentations at state and national conferences on topics such as Implementation Science, Family Engagement, and Responding to Challenging Behaviors, tailored to meet audience needs and interests.

Product Development

Create and enhance resources and tools to support the effective implementation of the Pyramid Model in various contexts, ensuring they meet the needs of programs and states.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in the principles and practices of the Pyramid Model, demonstrating a strong commitment to promoting social-emotional competence in infants and young children.
  • Proven track record of successfully facilitating State Leadership Teams (SLTs) and Community Leadership Teams (CLTs), fostering collaboration and driving effective implementation strategies.
  • Strong grasp of implementation science principles, including best practices for scaling and sustaining effective programs in diverse settings.
  • Expertise in adult learning theories and strategies, enabling the effective delivery of professional development and training that meets the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform decision-making and measure the impact of implementation efforts.
  • Exceptional facilitation skills, capable of guiding diverse groups and teams in collaborative problem-solving and strategic planning processes.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in developing training materials and resources.
  • Strong organizational and strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
  • Demonstrated leadership in collaborative environments.
  • Commitment to fostering social-emotional competence in young children.
  • Capacity to adapt to changing needs and priorities in a dynamic environment.
