MONDAY-FRIDAY AVAILABILITY | 5 SHIFTS A WEEK

Position Summary:

We’re looking for a Lead Beertender! To be successful in this position you will be positive, energized, and someone who leads by example. This person will execute specialized tasks to ensure the tasting room and its employees deliver a high-quality atmosphere, events, and service.

What you will be doing:

  • Customer Service: Ensure all customers receive prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service. Serve beer, cocktails, and other beverages while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Provide resolution when customer service issues arise with patience and tact.
  • Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor bartenders. Schedule shifts for regular work weeks and known holiday or high traffic schedules, assign tasks and ensure staff adherence to Company standards and policies.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, order supplies such as cleaning supplies, and manage stock. Communicate inventory and supply needs to Miramar Lead and/or Management. Conduct regular inventory checks and work with management to ensure cost-effective purchasing. Supplies listed below.
  • Bar Operations: Ensure smooth daily operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Complete deep cleaning tasks when directed. Communicate to management or the Facilities Lead any maintenance or repair issues immediately
  • Event Coordination: Assist in organizing and executing internal and external brewery events, such as tap takeovers, beer tastings, and private parties. Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events and special promotions.
  • Cash Handling: Oversee cash handling procedures, including cash register operations and credit card reconciliations. Ensure all financial transactions are accurate and secure. Identify and report any inaccuracies/variances to management.
  • Beer Knowledge: Stay up to date with our beer selections and be able to educate customers and staff on different styles, flavors, and brewing processes.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all drinks are served of the highest quality and in line with Duck Foot standards. Monitor and maintain draft systems to ensure optimal performance. Report any maintenance issues to the Facilities Lead and/or management immediately.
  • Compliance: Ensure the bar adheres to all legal requirements, including liquor licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
  • Reporting: Generate and provide sales reports as requested, ensure reports are accurate and distributed correctly and on time.

What you will bring along:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of bartending experience, preferably in a brewery or craft beer-focused environment. Those with events (live music, festivals, private events) experience are preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
  • Superior customer service abilities.
  • Prior experience training new team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of craft beer, brewing processes, and beer styles.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with POS systems and cash/credit handling procedures.
  • TIPS or similar responsible alcohol service certification is preferred.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
