Summary:
A Tax Planning Specialist works with a team of strategists to help reduce tax liabilities and optimize tax savings through proactive planning while ensuring compliance with tax laws.
Salary + Benefits:
- $65,000 to $110,000 base compensation (DOE), plus bonus

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation a plus)
- 3+ years of experience with income tax. Real estate tax and multi-state tax returns a plus
- 1+ years experience reviewing tax returns (Individuals, Partnerships, and S-Corporations)
- Growth and promotion history at previous jobs
- CPA or EA certification a plus
- QuickBooks, Lacerte, Microsoft Office, and CCH Research experience a plus
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and review tax returns for high net-worth individuals, real estate investors, and closely held businesses (i.e., corporate, partnership, and LLC)
- Identify tax planning opportunities and potential compliance issues during tax return reviews.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest tax legislation, ensuring accurate and compliant tax planning strategies.
- Assist the planning team with client advisory needs throughout the year.
- Participate in pre- and post-preparation for all client meetings, track action items, and implement agreed-upon strategies.
- Monitor deadlines, track outstanding items, and ensure client files are up-to-date.
- Research tax issues and draft technical correspondence as it relates to tax planning
- Develop and deliver tax-saving strategies for real estate investors and closely held businesses
- Develop and maintain client relationships throughout the year
