As a Teacher of Science and Agriculture, you will have a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of our students by providing them with a quality education and fostering a love for science.
You will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students can develop their scientific skills and knowledge. Your goal will be to inspire curiosity and critical thinking, while also helping students develop a deeper understanding of scientific principles. The successful candidate will be self-directed, collaborative, and able to develop positive working relationships with staff, students, caregivers, and other education agencies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging science lesson plans for students with diverse learning needs.
- Utilize effective classroom management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Incorporate hands-on experiments and activities to enhance student understanding of scientific concepts.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with behavioral and learning disabilities, ensuring equal access to education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate technology and innovative teaching practices into the curriculum.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students with consideration for the unique strengths and challenges of each student.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on assignments and tests.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education or related field
- Possess an NJDOE CE, CEAS, Provisional or Standard Teacher of Science certificate in the state of New Jersey
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges is highly preferred
- Self-directed, collaborative, and able to develop positive working relationships with staff, students, caregivers, and other education agencies.
- Strong knowledge of science concepts and principles across various grade levels
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Passion for working with students and helping them achieve their academic goals
- Must obtain a NJDOE Criminal History Background Check Approval
- Tuberculosis testing required
