This role educates victim service providers and allied professionals on technology safety issues, with a specific focus on supporting survivors of technology-facilitated abuse.
As part of the Safety Net team, the specialist will work closely with domestic violence coalitions, local programs, law enforcement, and legal professionals to deliver impactful, survivor-centered training and technical assistance. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with extensive experience in the fields of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking to contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
● Training and Technical Assistance:

○ Provide in-depth technical assistance to victim service providers via phone, email, virtual meetings, and on-site consultations, helping them address technology-facilitated abuse and safety challenges.
○ Lead the development of training materials, including curriculum, handouts, multimedia resources, and online content, to educate service providers on safe technology use and survivor privacy.
● Research and Resource Development:
○ Stay informed about emerging technology trends and policy developments that impact victim safety and privacy.
○ Conduct research on technology safety issues and contribute to the development of new resources that enhance the safety and privacy of survivors.
○ Assist with organization-wide communications efforts to raise awareness of NNEDV’s work and the Safety Net project’s impact on technology safety.
Partnerships and Advocacy:
● Collaborate with national, state, and local stakeholders, including law enforcement, courts, government agencies, and technology companies, to strengthen responses to technology-facilitated abuse.
● Contribute to external meetings, events, and conferences to represent NNEDV and promote the importance of technology safety in the fight against intimate partner violence.
Grant and Project Support:
● Support the sustainability of the Safety Net Project by contributing to grant writing and editing for project-specific funding opportunities.
● Assist in organization-wide activities and events, contributing to NNEDV’s overall mission and strategic initiatives.
Commitment to Equity and Inclusion:
● Advance NNEDV’s commitment to racial equity and inclusion in all aspects of the role, ensuring that all work is survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and rooted in racial justice.
● Ensure that training and technical assistance efforts are inclusive and responsive to the needs of historically marginalized communities, including communities of color, Tribal nations, and other underserved groups.
Qualifications:
● Required:
○ At least 5 years of relevant experience working on domestic violence, sexual violence, or stalking issues within the service provider community, legal system, or technical assistance programs.
○ Extensive experience working with survivors experiencing technology-facilitated abuse and delivering training on topics related to technology safety.
○ Strong understanding of VAWA confidentiality obligations, privacy concerns, and the unique challenges faced by survivors of technology abuse.
○ Demonstrated experience providing training and technical assistance to a variety of audiences, including victim advocates, law enforcement, judges, and other professionals.
○ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop curriculum and multimedia resources for diverse audiences.
○ Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, pivot priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
○ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with advanced features for content creation.
● Desired:
○ Prior participation in NNEDV’s Safety Net Training of Trainers, Technology Summits, or similar training programs.
○ Bilingual skills, particularly in Spanish, are highly preferred.
