Technical Operations Supervisor (Monett, MO)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Ozark Fiber. This position will be responsible for leading and managing a team of field technicians (in house and contracted), and ensuring the smooth and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of our services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of field technicians. Providing guidance, support and training to ensure the highest level of standards, performance, and productivity.
  • Managing daily operations by assigning tasks, managing workloads to ensure timely completion of installation, repair, and maintenance activities – up to and potentially including personally addressing individual installs and trouble-tickets.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
  • Foster a positive attitude and collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain standard operating procedures for technical operations.
  • Develop, revise, and maintain technical training standards.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal departments, including customer service/support, network operations, networking engineering, and sales teams to address customer issues, resolve technical problems, and ensure effective communication.
  • Interview and hire applicants, conduct and oversee new hire training and provide ongoing training/development.
  • Ensure that all technical staff comply with safety, health, and government regulations.
  • Ensure that all equipment, tools, and vehicles are maintained and in good working order and available when needed.
  • Manage inventory and equipment used by the field technicians, ensuring availability, maintenance, and proper usage.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and records related to field operations, including work orders, service tickets, and performance metrics.
  • All other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the ISP or telecommunications industry.
  • Strong technical background with in-depth knowledge of internet and networking technologies, including routers, switches, ONTs, and cabling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to field operations.
  • Proficient computer skills and familiarity with relevant software applications for documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and field escalations outside of normal operating hours.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various work sites/markets as required.
