Job Description
Watertown Savings Bank is looking for friendly, outgoing individuals to join our team as Tellers. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service to all customers by processing transactions accurately, timely, and efficiently. An ideal Teller candidate should have cashing handling experience, feel comfortable working with the public, using a PC, and have strong communication skills.
The full-time Teller position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, including two Saturdays in a four Saturday month and three Saturdays in a five Saturday month. Saturday work hours are paid at the rate of time and a half.
The part-time Teller position schedule is dependent on the location of the opening and includes Saturday work time.
Major Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Maintain and balance a teller cash drawer daily and report any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Provide prompt, accurate routine tasks, including making deposits, withdrawals, transfers, issuing money orders or cashier checks, receiving loan payments, cashing checks, etc.
- Correctly identify customers and examine checks for proper endorsements and authenticity.
- Comply and keep updated on all policies, procedures, regulations, etc.
- Set up and keep an organized teller workstation for daily activity, i.e., obtains necessary forms supplies for individual work station and order cash as needed.
- Answers phones and transfer calls to appropriate personnel if unable to assist the customer.
- Identifies sales opportunities and makes referrals to appropriate departments or individuals.
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications:
- Experience in cash handling and managing debits & credits - Prior experience in a similar role preferred, but not mandatory - Strong background in banking and financial services (preferred)
- Proficiency in basic math and financial calculations
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
