We are seeking an experienced Outside Salesperson with a strong background in calling on plumbing engineers to drive the specification of our products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with plumbing engineers, promoting our products, and influencing the inclusion of our solutions in plumbing engineering specifications. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our market share and ensuring our products are specified for plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Plumbing Engineer Engagement:

  • Identify and target plumbing engineering firms, key decision-makers, and influencers within your designated territory.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with plumbing engineers to understand their project needs and priorities.

Product Promotion:

  • Educate plumbing engineers on the features, benefits, and technical aspects of our products and services.
  • Highlight how our products meet and exceed industry standards and project requirements.

Specification Development:

  • Work closely with plumbing engineers to ensure our products are specified in their project plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to plumbing engineers during the specification process.

Technical Expertise:

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of our products, their applications, and how they align with plumbing engineering standards and regulations.
  • Offer technical support and solutions to plumbing engineers, addressing any concerns or challenges related to product specifications.

Sales Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan focused on driving product specifications.
  • Collaborate with the sales team and management to identify opportunities, pricing strategies, and competitive advantages.

Market Analysis:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies in the plumbing engineering sector.
  • Gather insights on market demand and trends to inform product development and marketing efforts.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of plumbing engineers, contacts, and project specifications.
  • Follow up regularly with clients to ensure their satisfaction and address any post-specification needs.


  • Prepare regular reports on specification activities, including progress towards specified projects and sales targets.
  • Provide recommendations for refining sales strategies and tactics.


  • Travel within the designated territory to meet with plumbing engineers, attend industry events, and conduct on-site visits.


  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in outside sales, specifically in calling on plumbing engineers to drive product specifications.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems and our products.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Results-driven with a track record of achieving or surpassing sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage your territory effectively.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications or training in plumbing engineering or related fields.
  • An existing network of contacts and relationships within the plumbing engineering sector.
  • Familiarity with plumbing codes and regulations in the target territory.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
