Marysville Uptown Theatre (MUT)- Front of House & Marquee Club Manager- Avalon Theatre

MUT has a strong and engaged board and a passionate a highly experienced Executive Director and Marketing and Events Rental Director ready to welcome a new, hands-on Front of House & Marquee Club Manager who will team up with the staff and board to take the historic Avalon Theatre to the next level as a performing and cultural arts center in the heart of Uptown Marysville.

The Front of House & Marquee Club Manager will report to the Executive Director and work in multiple areas including the day-to-day administrative responsibilities and front-of-house obligations, as well as training programs, class offerings, productions and events, and more, to ensure the success and longevity of the Avalon Theatre.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all front-of-house operational duties including receiving and sending mail, ticket booth [set-up, maintenance, work], ticket scanner(s) [set-up, and maintenance], volunteer training, direct customer support, and additional duties as assigned for successful front of house operations.
  • Maintain a customer service-focused work attitude and environment.
  • Manage guest ticket sales via phone, email, or in-person box office visits, with prompt responses, daily during work hours, or as appropriate.
  • Manage box office online and physical ticketing system. Update Ludus ticketing system with all performances, dinner and show packages, special events, etc., regularly and promptly.
  • Invoice group ticket buyers, season subscribers, ticket holders, etc.

Concessions / Marquee Club:

  • Support concession sales for all Avalon events and specified rentals, as communicated by the Executive Director.
  • Help manage inventory.
  • Daily cleaning and upkeep of concessions area, support space, merchandise displays and Marquee Club patron areas.

Stewardship efforts including:

  • Generate and send thank-you emails and letters, as appropriate, to patrons following performances, maintaining great relationships.
  • Maintain database of contacts for schools and other groups in Union County and surrounding counties in Ohio and communicate as appropriate to teachers and principals about field trip opportunities.
  • Create, print, fold, and stuff programs for productions (when applicable.)
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and others to plan, manage, and execute all productions, special events, rentals, film series and other events as assigned by the Executive Director

  • Pleasant disposition, hospitality oriented, loves building relationships with guests
  • Organized, timely, and a self starter.
  • Good Communication skills and willingness to use multiple avenues of communication daily as required.
  • Ability to use Google Workspace and web based applications without training.


  • Work with the Executive Director to manage The Avalon Theatre’s Marquee Club, Concessions, Merchandise.

Hours: Tuesday through Saturday - - 9am to 2pm
Additional Avalon Evening Events & Select Rentals

Benefits: 10 days paid vacation

Start Date: Tuesday, January 09, 2024

Salary: $40,000-$42,000/year to commensurate with experience, plus additional compensation for working rentals. Opportunities for growth with the organization.
